OJPL Mission Statement

The Orange Juice Public Library, which is public, not in the sense of being accountable to an oppressive government bureaucracy (although, as long as the police are free to roam the streets and do what they please without fear of repercussions, it is this also), but in the sense of being (hopefully) open-access and partly modeled on peer-to-peer Internet technologies. The library is anarchist, open source, and free. Ideally, it will be able to function as a model that is exportable to other places and fields, adaptable to specific material realities. Its broad mission is to, whenever possible, enable the being of a world that we all want to live in. In this sense, it exists to meet the needs of its community (however it might adapt).
