What to do if you are carrying a stick or a pole and then fell into quicksand.
- call for help
- fall on your back
- put stick under shoulders with arms out to side
- push stick to hips
- slowly pull legs out one at a time
- don't tire yourself out - take rests between moves
- use the stick to keep "floating" on quicksand
- roll a little at a time to solid ground
- rest
